You can follow my progress from the tab on the top of the page.  My goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days.  They tell me the key is quantity, not quality.  Editing is a time killer and can be done next month, next year…

Halfway through and you realize you missed a major plot point?  Make a note, keep typing.  Finally realize you keep switching genders on a major character?  Make a note, keep typing.  Having troubles explaining how we get from point A to point B?  Blame it on Space Monkeys and keep typing.

Any writer will tell you that the hardest thing about writing is sitting your ass down in the chair and making the time to get it down on paper.  This project is all about churning out the words and allowing them to suck.  Editing crappy work is a lot easier than having no work to edit.

So, I started writing at the stroke of midnight.  You’ll see I haven’t hit my goal of 1667 words yet but I still have the rest of the day.  I was up until 5am yesterday, got a couple of hours sleep, drove home, helped out with Becca’s Halloween party (a rousing success, I’m sure Teresa will fill you all in on it in her next blog) and now that I have 800+ words down, I’m falling asleep on the keyboard (a great trick at increasing your wordcount…) and I’m calling it a night.  I’ll finish out the other 800+ words in the morning…

Good night all!
