So yesterday was a “spoil Becca” day. It didn’t start out that way but these things just happen you know? We started out the day sleeping late and enjoying this beautiful cool weather. We left the house to grab a quick bite to eat before heading to the skating rink with 100 other Girl Scouts all ranging from 5-18 years of age. We spent a wonderful 2 hours in a freezing ice skating rink slurping down warm “hot” chocolate and eating chocolate chip cookies. The girls had a blast and were sad to see 4:00.  Becca and I then decided we didn’t feel like running out to grocery shop and thought a nice dinner instead more appropriate so we checked out a new restaurant in our area and enjoyed a very nice meal together. Ever have jambalaya fettuccine? It’s absolutely amazing. It has fettuccine noodles, chicken, sausage, shrimp, green peppers onions and some very nice spicy sauce. Oh my was it delicious – and so not on my proper diet! OOPS! Anyway as we sat there eating dinner Becca kept begging to go and see this Twilight movie, I promised to take her Sunday at the first showing which will be at 12:55pm. I don’t like going to the movies at night, especially without Chris. NO WAY was I going Saturday night to watch some stupid teenie bopper movie. Sunday would be perfect to go, grab some lunch and hit the movies. Becca then looks up at me with this evil glint to her eye and says, “Hey mom, what time’s the game on tomorrow.” BRAT, I respond by saying, “Hurry up and finish your dinner, let’s hit the damn movie tonight.” So, we hit the 6:45 movie, get great seats and then just as I’m settling down, Becca says, “Daddy always buys me skittles, can I have skittles.” GRRRR! I hate to leave her alone in the theater but I’ll be damned if we’re going to lose our seats. So, I get up to go and she hollers, “Don’t forget the ICEE.” Grrrr!  So, I’m standing in the shortest line, behind a family of 6. Yes, I know they are family – there is no denying it. Well, I figure I’m lucky because it’s technically, one person right? HA! Mom decides this was the night she’d teach them all about money. All 5 of her kids get money handed to them and they each get to walk up to the counter by their self to ask the nice person behind the counter, “how much is this?” and then decide what they actually want. Fifteen minutes later, I’m loaded down with a huge ICEE, a bag of skittles and a bag of reese’s pieces, I head back to the theater when this little teenie bopper asks to see my ticket stub. GRRRR! It’s in my pocket and my hands are full. I finally get back into the theater and Becca is complaining, “Where were you, I texted you” Don’t talk to me kid!!!

The movie was great, Becca really enjoyed it. We had a nice discussion after the movie and Becca says she really did enjoy it but was (like everyone else it seems) disappointed that it didn’t go exactly as the book said. I actually enjoyed the movie and am looking forward to the remaining movies to come out. Becca had a great day and even thanked me several times for a great day. Of course, she then ruined it by asking what we had planned for Sunday. Uh, sleep, clean, grocery shop and football??? Daddy’s coming home soon, we have to shovel out the crap before he gets here!!
