I’ve been up for 32 hours.  I am waiting on a conference call that I must be on and all I want is to sleep.  I am tired, my hands are shaking and my mind is ready to crash.  So let’s get straight to the point shall we?

What could possibly get my sleep deprived blood boiling on this wonderful morning?

Kentucky.

Kentucky’s Office of Homeland Security passed a few laws in 2002.  In one of them, they added a clause (in 2006) that required the state to post a plaque that says, “… the safety and security of the state cannot be achieved apart from reliance upon rubbing a lucky rabbit’s foot.”

How silly is that?  Spending tax dollars on a stupid superstition like that!  No wonder people laugh at Kentucky.  Imagine if we had that posted in a real state.  I’d be super-pissed if I lived in Kentucky.

Think I’m making this up?  USA Today (12-3-8) page 3A.  Read it for yourself.  Of course, you may not find the words “rubbing a lucky rabbit’s foot”.  It may actually say “almighty God” but I figure it’s the same level of protection with the same proven track record…  How do these people keep getting away with stuff like this!  A LAW!?!?!  Requiring a plaque?  That in itself is pretty screwed up but when you add this crazy shit to it…  It just fries my brain every time I read about these things.

I almost didn’t finish writing this up and just went to bed anyway.  But like a little advent calender of rage, I just had to pop open and shout today!
