I’m having trouble getting back into a nicer mood. Every time I start to write, everything turns violent. Maybe because I haven’t written in a while, maybe because I’m heading back to Chicago. I’m sitting in the airport, moderately frustrated at the “stupid people” that just seem to track me down to get in my way. But I’m not letting them bother me too much. I’m barely listening to the news feed on the screens but one of them struck my ear… They have arrested the guy that killed the woman and dropped the 4-year old off at the rest stop. Good, I don’t like people hurting kids, or even killing the mother in the first place but the part that hit me was, Could the media have sent a clearer message to all future criminals? The message: “Leave no one alive”. They are really laying it on thick about how the kid gave a great description and that led to the arrest. This ensures that the next criminal will kill the kid. Doesn’t it?
See? Even when I’m just sitting here I have ugly thoughts… I’d better go now before I really get started.
