So, Becca didn’t go to school the past two days because of being sick. She told me last night she wanted to go today because when she misses one day of school it’s like missing a week at JWJ. Two days would be pure suicide. But, since she was still running a slight fever and still looked like death warmed over, I made the executive mommy decision that even if she was feeling better, she was staying home Tuesday just to be sure. Well, she slept through the night with only minimal coughing, woke at 10 and said she felt like crap but could tell she was getting better because her cheeks had color in them. Being the terrible mother I am, I then informed her that I had an errand to run and she could go with me. My new JD Robb book came out today….oh and the new Kim Harrison too… Can’t let them sit cold on the shelf, I NEED them. So, we head out, drop of cookies to Karen and run to the book store. We then decide to grab some lunch since there is nothing in the house and I haven’t had a chance to go shopping…BOOKS come first you know… ANYWAY..
As you know, Becca and Chris are like twins, she’s so much like her daddy it’s amazing. If she can cause chaos, she gleefully causes it…just like daddy. Well, usually, if she causes an upset she laughs hysterically even if the joke is on her.. NOT today. Poor thing, you know when she’s not feeling well when a glass of spilled tea upsets her. She had just taken a sip, set it down on the table, not realizing it was sitting half on her plate and DOWN goes the glass, all over her, the table, her food and her phone. Now usually she’d sit and crack up, I’d make sarcastic jokes and the server would just shake their head. This time….BIG FAT CROCIDILE TEARS…oh my poor baby, she just started crying hysterically. I almost started to crymyself. The server was amazing, tsk, tsking Becca, telling her accidents happen and we’ll fix her right up. It was a young girl too, so I was surprised at her patience.BIG tip for her!! Becca was soaking wet and so upset.Needless to say, we hurried up our lunch, sped home, jumped out of the wet clothes into a hot shower and are now taking a nice little nap. I guess she’s still not feeling well. Of course, any thought of staying home tomorrow puts her in absolute panic mode. She’s going to school tomorrow even if she’s got an IV in her arm. (her words, not mine)
ADVERTISEMENT>>>>My brother-in-law Jeff is starting his own lawn care business. His prices are reasonable and he actually does a great job. I’m hiring him and his crew to do our yard this summer while Chris is away. No sense in making Chris do lawn work on his short vacations home. And I’m NOT doing it. I’ve got the interior of this mansion to clean, I’m NOT doing the outside too. Seriously though – Jeff actually does a pretty good job and is looking for some business. If anyone is interested, give me a holler and I’ll get you in touch with him…
