First I have to say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to my 2nd favorite man Thom for saving me $150! WOO HOO! Thom and Chris worked on the Ranger this weekend and though it needs a TON of work, they found that the alternator did not need to be replaced (yet), just the wire that was attached to it. WHEW! It’s a good thing too because I needed a vehicle to take Becca to the doctors today. Thom saves us $150 on car repairs, Becca costs us $100 in doctor bills today.

Today is the 1st day of her finals, she feels like crap so we figure we’d hit the doctors first thing this morning, confirm her allergies are acting up and get to school before the 1st test in 4th period. NOT! Her appointment isn’t until 1130 (that’s 4th period!) and we have to wait until noon to be seen. Unfortunately, it’s not her allergies, it’s Bronchitis again! UGH, give me a break! So the doctor tells Becca to stay home from school today to rest, get the 1st dosage in her and play hookie from school. NOPE! Becca breaks down in tears, she just HAS to go to school, she CAN’T miss her tests. Of course, that makes the nose that’s already stuffed with snot, get even snottier! UGH! Wal-Mart doesn’t have her prescriptions, they refer us to Walgreens who only have the anti-biotics, not the cough medicine. The lady finally tells us just to buy Mucinex DM – it’s the same thing – okay, I’ll do that…$15.00!! for 20 pills???? HIGHWAY ROBBERY FOLKS! Of course, her antibiotics were $55.Oh lord help me, I can’t take much more of this…. So, I finally picked up the prescriptions, shoved the medicine down her throat, made her take a steamy hot bath and have put that baby to bed to sleep this nastiness out of her. She actually made me call the school to make sure she could make up the tests!!  What a nut!

Karen stopped by today to drop off a partial payment of what she owes my dad. She brought her new puppy with her – he’s a cute little guy – Luna HATES him.. She snapped at him everytime he walked within her reach – BITCH! He’s a cutie and I’ll love playing with him for about 3 more months -then I’m done… It’s a full-blown pit pull. I know I shouldn’t stereotype him, but damned if I’m not terrified of that. He’s just the cutest thing, but I have an absolute fear of pit-bulls. Hopefully, he’ll prove me wrong, but…

We had our Hot Job/Cool Career field trip this past Saturday for Girl Scouts. The girls spent an entire day visiting and asking questions with professional business women. They had 10 local business women and 3 college students in attendance. It was pretty cool – they had a circuit court judge (who Becca immediately went to speak with- THAT’s MY GIRL!!), a chemical engineer, mechanical engineer, civil engineer, interior designer, navy officer, audiologist… and a few more, though I don’t recall their professions. The three college students were from FCCJ, Flagler and UCF.It was a very interesting day, and hopefully got our girls to thinking about what they’ll do after graduation (still 5 years from now). Of course, we were in a school cafeteria in Orange Park the entire day – and with budget issues…. NO Air Conditioning!! 50 girls in a cafeteria with no a/c and 88 degrees. It was miserable!

And on a girlie note….. Happy 20th to my wonderful man… Though our true anniversary isn’t until the 23rd and it’s only our 17th…. today marks the 20th year of Chris and I being together. Time certainly flies when you are having so much fun… I LOVE YOU CHRIS HONEY, My wonderful man….!!
