Show number three: “Top Ten Metal Bands!”

Here we are this week with an attempt to list the top ten metal bands.

When Wade suggested this topic, I got wicked excited!  But when we recorded this topic, I was disappointed that there wasn’t any blowback.  Wade is not a metalhead and since we were up against the clock when we recorded, he just let me run with it.  There’s not much here but me gushing for thirty minutes about some of my favorite bands.  It’s not a bad show (otherwise I wouldn’t have posted it) but I was hoping to go to war on this one.  It’s one of my more passionate topics and I encountered no resistance…

And, since I was given free rein on this one, I expect demand you to comment and give me your own list, tell me where I’m so wrong.  Ridicule me for my lack of vision by not including your favorite bands.  C’mon, please try to convince me that Van Halen is metal or that Warrant, Winger or Poison belong on the list…  Go ahead!  I want to fight about this!!!

So here it is, my list of the top ten metal bands.

10 – Death
9 – Motley Crue
8 – Anthrax
7 – Metallica
6 – Mercyful Fate
5 – Motorhead
4 – Iron Maiden
3 – Slayer
2 – Judas Priest
1 – Black Sabbath

I stand by my list.  It may be improved upon, there are a couple entries that I’m not married to but they are there to represent entire sub-genres.  The list may be open to change but you’ve got to convince me…
